Flight for the Human Spirit
Michael Combs took off from Salina, Kansas on April 8,2010 in a REMOS Light Sport Aircraft with the goal of flying into all fifty states and inspiring millions to follow their dreams.
A journey of this magnitude, originally slated to cover more than 33,000 miles and with stops in more than 171 cities across America, had never before been accomplished in a Light Sport Aircraft — until now. Michael not only met those goals, but exceeded them as millions have watched history unfolding before their eyes.
On September 26th, 2012 Michael touched down in Oahu, Hawaii after having flown over 48,000 miles, (further than two times around the world!) He has landed at more than 200 airports, flown in all fifty states, and through British Columbia, Canada. Most importantly, Michael has reached more than 28.4 million people with his message of hope.

The Flight for the Human Spirit started as a dream, and is proof that all things are possible to those who believe.
It has always been Michael’s dream to fly — a dream he thought was lost forever after a serious illness almost took his life in 2003. Just seven years later, his dream began coming true! But, it’s not just about his dream, Michael knows what it’s like to face impossible odds. As a result he set out to inspire others to dream again and pursue those dreams with vigour and determination…and to do it now.
We invite all those who learn about the project to encourage and inspire others to follow their dreams too. As Michael learned from his after-death experience, we must live life to the full with no regrets.
Q. Why is this flight unique? This flight is sanctioned as a National and World Aviation Record. It is flown in an unmodified Light Sport Aircraft under the restrictions of the Sport Pilot’s License. Specifically the flight must not extend beyond civil dusk nor begin prior to civil dawn.
Q. Why is the greatest threat? The greatest obstacle is two days of flyable weather from coast to coast. This is a flight that will prove to be challenging in many obvious ways.
Q. Why are you doing this? The message behind The Flight for the Human Spirit is to encourage fifty million people around the world to never, EVER give up on their dreams.
The Original Mission: To fan the flames of 20 million people’s dreams and to encourage them to do the same with others.
What keeps us from our dreams? Why do some succeed while other earnest and well meaning people fail? We’ve all heard of famous singers who struggle to hold a note, yet there they are soaking in the glory of a successful career while other more talented people give up and change course in their life.
We’ve all known people who are clearly unhappy in their careers yet they never pursue their dream of owning their own business. There are still others with dreams of having someone to love, while there are so many waiting to be noticed.
ARTS
Michael woke up 40 weeks after his after-death experience and said “I know how to paint”. He had been given instruction in his dreams. Since then he has created more than 100 paintings.
BOOKS
Michael Combs is writing continuously and is publishing books that are designed primarily to help you find purpose, happiness, peace, contentment, and love.
MUSIC
